Prison ministry outreach programs

Our goal is to ensure all who come through our doors enjoy the pleasure of feeling at home and welcome when they arrive to Green Lakes.

Ministry Inside Jail:

Pastor Mark Carman is currently the Chaplain at the Portsmouth Sheriff's Department. Because of his former law enforcement background, he is passionate about making those formerly incarcerated feel welcome and at home when they come to Green Lakes. 

Ministry Inside Prison:

Green Lakes Baptist Church is currently ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ inside a local prison in Chesapeake, Virginia. We are also facilitating an InsideOut Dads program to the men there. If you are interested in becoming part of our church prison ministry, please contact Andrew and Pamela Wood. We will be happy to have you join our team.

ReComOut - Reentry Community Outreach

 ReComOut (Re-Entry Community Outreach), is an organization dedicated to support individuals navigating from incarceration to reintegration with their families and into their communities. This organization is committed to empowering those re-entering society with the tools, resources, and guidance they need to rebuild their lives.

At ReComOut, we understand reentry affects not just the individual, but also their loved ones. We are also dedicated to assist families on the outside by providing support as they work together towards a fresh start and a stronger future.
