Green Lakes Baptist Church
At Green Lakes Baptist Church, our beliefs are grounded in the truth of Scripture and centered on the person and work of Jesus Christ. These core beliefs shape our worship, guide our teaching, and inform how we live out our faith together.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the complete, trustworthy Word of God.
The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament were inspired by the Holy Spirit as originally written. Scripture is fully authoritative and sufficient for all matters of faith, life, and conduct. God’s Word is our final authority and guide for truth.

God
We believe in one true God, the Creator of all things.
God is holy, sovereign, eternal, and unchanging. He exists eternally in three equal Persons — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — each worthy of worship, obedience, and trust.

Jesus Christ
We believe in the absolute and essential deity of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is eternally existent with the Father and fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and willingly offered Himself as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins. He rose bodily from the grave, ascended victoriously into heaven, and now carries out His mediatorial ministry. He will personally and visibly return in power and glory.
Jesus Christ is our Savior, Lord, and coming King.

The Holy Spirit
We believe in the absolute deity and personal nature of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates, indwells, seals, sanctifies, illuminates, and comforts those who believe in Jesus Christ. At conversion, He baptizes believers into the Body of Christ and sovereignly bestows spiritual gifts as He wills, empowering those who are yielded to Him.

Mankind
We believe that humanity was created by God in His image.
Adam was divinely created without sin, but through disobedience, sin entered the human race. As a result, all people inherit a sinful nature and are spiritually separated from God. Every person is guilty before God and stands in need of redemption. Sin results in both physical and spiritual death apart from Christ.

Genesis 3:1–19

Salvation
We believe that salvation is entirely the work of God’s sovereign grace.
Salvation is initiated by the Father and accomplished through the voluntary, propitiatory death of Jesus Christ. Justification is by faith alone in the all-sufficient sacrifice and resurrection of Christ. Salvation is not earned by works, but received by grace. Those whom God has effectually called are divinely preserved and will ultimately be perfected into the image of Christ.

Authority of Christ Over the Church
We believe that Jesus Christ alone is the Head of the Church.
The Church is the Body of Christ, composed of all true believers. Jesus Christ is the supreme authority and foundation of the Church. All leadership, teaching, and ministry operate under His lordship and in submission to the authority of Scripture. The Church exists to glorify God through worship, discipleship, fellowship, service, and the proclamation of the Gospel.
